Algerian Women Intern at Fortune 500 Company

Farida Aït Kaci (left) and Houda Sahri (right), alumnus of the U.S. Business Internship for Young Middle Eastern Women Program, discussed on August 8th their experiences last year to members of the Algerian press. The two women spent one month in intensive study at the prestigious Goiuzeta Business School at Emory University and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University respectively, followed by a three-month internship at Pfizer headquarters in New York City. Both were exuberant in describing their professional and personal experiences in the United States and said they came away with a new found confidence in their own capabilities and had established strong networks and ties with their fellow program participants and Pfizer colleagues.
Funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), the program offers young Middle Eastern and North African women an opportunity to improve their skills and receive real life training and job experience in some of the world’s most well-known and respected companies and law firms. Successful applicants must be 22 to 32 years of age, be a citizen or permanent resident of Algeria, meet the minimum English requirement, and have the appropriate education and/or professional experience in business or law.
