Visa Fees

Application Fee (Machine Readable Visa Fee)

The application fee is US$160, and is paid to our cashier in the Consular Section of the Embassy, in either US dollars or Algerian dinar.  The Embassy does not accept credit cards.

This payment is mandatory and is not refundable under any circumstances. If the visa is refused or you abandon your application, the fee will not be refunded.

Only applicants for diplomatic visas (A, G, C-3, and NATO), bearers of diplomatic or official passports, and visitors sponsored by the US Government are exempt from paying the application fee.

Fee for H-1 B and L Visas

Employers filing a petition for H1-B and L Visa applicants are charged a supplementary fee of US $500.  This fee is collected in the United States.  A fee in the same amount will be charged to the principal applicant for a Blanket L visa and will be collected by consular services in the Embassy at the time of the application.

Reciprocity Fees

In some cases, you may also have to pay a "reciprocity fee" once the visa has been authorized, but before the visa can be issued. Reciprocity fees vary by type of visa and the nationality of the applicant. This is based on what your government charges American citizens for an equivalent visa. Algerian citizens are not required to pay any reciprocity fee.

Visit the Department of State's Reciprocity Fee Website to learn if your application requires a reciprocity fee.
