United Parcel Service (UPS) Passback of Passports

If a visa is issued, the Consular Section retains the applicant’s passport in order to insert the visa.  Passports, with visas affixed, will be returned to applicants via the private handling service UPS.

After the visa interview, the applicant must stop at the UPS store at 08 Rue Imam Ghazali (ex rue Colbert) and arrange delivery and payment for the return of the passport to the applicant.  A map with directions from the U.S. Embassy to UPS can be accessed by clicking here .

An applicant in Algiers should retrieve his or her passport in person at the UPS Rue Imam Ghazali (Ex rue Colbert) location; a fee of 300 DA applies for this reclamation service.  Alternatively, the price charged by UPS to ship a passport to anywhere in Algeria does not exceed 820 DA.
