Embassy Algiers Hosts First Webchat
On October 19, the Consular Section hosted Embassy Algiers' first-ever webchat on America.gov to discuss issues related to the Diversity Visa process. They received questions ranging from how to register for DV season 2011 to what options are available to individuals in the U.S. after they have been issued the visa. There were approximately 65 participants in the webchat at any given time. The turnout was so overwhelming that the Consular Section was only able to respond to approximately 30% of the questions during the session. Thanks to the great popularity and success of this webchat, the Consular Section is planning multiple follow-up sessions dealing with visas and American citizen issues in the near future.
